Catholic view of Purgatory ... Is it real?

Can you do more than just state your opinion without support?

While the definition of purgatory may be correct as defined
by Catholics, the doctrine is completely unbiblical and not a part of the Christian world view.

Then perhaps you can provide another interpretation of the verses used in this thread which can be reconciled with another doctrine. While you do this I would appreciate it if you also address the interpretations provided for those verses and why they are not correct. This would carry a lot more weight than merely stating your opinion on the subject with no supporting evidence.

Many good Catholics have fallen prey to the teachings of the Catholic Church because they failed to read and study for themselves,

I find this an insulting statement toward Catholics many of whom study the Bible much more deeply than oyu have.
