"And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you" (Psalm 9:10, ESV).

Even the first part of the verse brought a wonderful lesson to me: "And those who know your name put their trust in you..."

If we really know God, our tendency is to trust Him.

In order to have faith in Him, we need to know Him. And that's why Jesus made known His Father to those people whom the Father gave to Him (John 17:6 and 26). And if we know Him, we will also have love toward God.

Some believe that though we know God, we would not still trust Him. That could be true, if our knowledge of Him came only from our observation of His creation. In that way, perhaps, we could just believe that there's a God who exists, as we read in Romans 1. The kind of belief that even Satan and his demons have.

But if our knowledge of God came by the revelation of Jesus Christ through His Word with the illumination of the Holy Spirit, we could say we really know Him.

And we will surely put our trust in Him.

"Yet I will
rejoice in the LORD,
I will take joy
in the God of my salvation"
(Habakkuk 3:18, ESV).
