"the law is not of faith" - "whatsoever is not of faith is sin"

Brother Leon,

I would remind those who are reading your comment and post: COMMENTS ON TITHING, to remember that every word that is written down in The Bible is consider to be The Divine Inspiration of G-d. So when we read from The Bible, which IS The Word of G-d, and It's Message IS about how we are to live in life!

Because you have taken the context from one teaching of Jesus and have associated it with the Whole of Scripture, it becomes of no effect to your point about what "The Sermon on The Mount" is teaching...

What we must remember Is: That "All Scripture" is Very Important to Remember for our well being, as a Believer in The Faith.

G-d's Word has stood the testing of time, and still IS today. It IS All of The Bible that is considered G-d's Divine Inspiration unto All of Mankind...

The Bible IS The Word of G-d or they are The Words of Jesus, and The Word of G-d does not ever return void, any thoughts or imaginations to the reader mind! The Word of G-d speaks directly to our heart, from The Heart of G-d.

And another point to consider IS G-d's Grace...

G-d has never changed how He Works in the hearts of mankind in all of this Time - Space Continuum that we are still apart of and how He does things for us to help us understand Him and what His Words are meaning and saying today, to our hearts...

So we must also consider all of G-d's Word from The Bible, not just what you are concerned about in what the meaning is of The Sermon on The Mount means to you in your life right here and today.

So correctly interpreting The Scriptures, requires rightly understanding the all-inclusiveness which G-d is addressing as His Divine Inspiration to all of Mankind...

This is Divine Inspiration is considered "G-d's Light" from "The Father of Light", to All Nation of The Earth...

Shalom, Lee...
