madame guyon's response to adversity

jw in part one of madame guyon's autobiography she develops a pattern of response to adversity that would hold true for all her life. she is dealing with a nagging mother-in-law who finds fault at every turn and tends to be a big fat fibber. Guyon not only pours her heart out to the LORD, but tries harder and harder to give no one an occasion for fault-finding. it's a struggle she tries to use for self-purifying that seems like it will never end.....in pt. 2 people continue to attack her for no apparent reason except possibly jealousy and she continues to refuse to defend herself or spread nasty things about them back......leading me to believe if i didn't seek to defend myself but sought the LORD the more i would be better off.
