RE: Response doesn't address my issue

Greetings; I did not accuse Kim Davis of lying...I posed a question to Mr Logan (or for anyone else), who wished to engage on this issue:

"By not fulfilling her oath, is she then committing a sin of lying?"

I then backed up the question by commenting on the biblical verse that I cited to clarify the question:

"(The Bible is clear that lying is a sin and is displeasing to God.) Jesus called Himself the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and He expects those who follow Him to be people of truth."

I did not take a position and answer my own question by calling Davis a liar; what's the point of that?

The direction of my question was to engage some critical thinking; with the intent of eliciting a response of whether or not Davis was being a hypocrite; e.g. I am a Christian and my beliefs prevent me from issuing SSM certificates; but in the same breath, I will disavow my oath of office I took...invoking the name of God (as a witness)and not perform my sworn duties.

And yes, I did answer your question; the oath is crystal clear and self-evident; "...that I will not knowingly or willingly commit any malfeasance of office, and will faithfully execute the duties of my office without favor, affection or partiality, so help me God"

Based on the oath Davis took, she is legally duty bound to perform her job- she cannot capriciously or arbitrarily pick and choose because of her personal beliefs; partisanship; biases; prejudices, etc.

In a nutshell: SCOTUS ruled in favor of legalizing same sex marriage nationwide on June 26; (which I'm opposed to)...Davis, since August, refused to sign and issue licenses to SSM couples; I understand her position and support her; BUT don't you think she had ample time from June 26th to August to ask for exemption based on her Christian conscience? Within that same time frame, she had fore knowledge that she would have to eventually violate her sworn oath if she did not ask for that exemption and by making the conscious decision to withhold SSM certificates ...don't forget, Davis has been the chief deputy clerk in Rowan County since 1991; and she worked for her mother, who was then the County Clerk. So it's not like Kim Davis did not know how the system worked or what was happening down the line.

Based on the aforementioned, I'm not swayed by the null and void argument you presented.

Thank-you for your thought provoking response.
