Microsoft Reader (lit)
Read books in this format on your PC or PocketPC handheld with Microsoft Reader.
Microsoft Word Document (doc)
Use this format if you want to load a ThML book into Microsoft Word 2000 or later. Right-click and save the file, and then open it in Word. We can convert these back to ThML files, so this is a good format for making corrections to a ThML document.
MP3 Audio (mp3)
Listen to audio narrations of the book.
Page Images (png, png-hires)
Select this format to view the original page scans of the print edition. Some books also have high-resolution scans that are suitable for reprinting.
Palm Docbook (pdb)
These can be read on a Palm Pilot or compatible handheld. Please see www.palmdigitalmedia.com for more information.
Plain Text File (txt)
You can read this file in any text editor. To see special characters, make sure your text editor supports unicode (UTF-8) text files.
Portable Document Format (pdf)
This format is good if you want to download an entire book in a single file that can be used with the free Adobe Reader. Also works well if you wish to print.
Rich Text Format (rtf)
Supports more formatting than plaintext, but less than HTML. Unlike PDF, the text is reflowable. Rich Text can usually be viewed without installing any additional software, since most operating systems come with a suitable text editor (i.e. WordPad in Windows, TextEdit in Mac OS X).
Theological Markup Language (ThML)
This is the form of the document from which others are derived. This is the one to edit to correct errors, and this is probably the one you want if you plan to convert to another format yourself. When viewing this format, web browsers may convert it to HTML on the fly; choose the "View Source" option to see the XML itself. This format is no longer available to users as of 2011-08-03.
